We don’t just read resumes, we verify real, hands-on experience, training, and certifications to ensure every caregiver meets our standard.

Each caregiver is thoughtfully interviewed and evaluated, including live skill demonstrations in newborn and postpartum care.

Comprehensive background checks, verified references, and screenings are completed.
All caregivers are CPR & First Aid certified, up to date on required vaccinations, and meet strict experience requirements.
Newborn Care Specialists are certified or have 1,000+ verified hours, and doulas carry professional liability insurance. -

Our placement fee is based on the caregiver’s annual salary.
Newborn Care Specialists & Postpartum Doulas: 15%
Long-Term Nannies: 10%
We also offer flexible payment plans, and accept major credit cards and checks.

The $250 administrative fee covers a 45–60 minute in-depth consultation where we take the time to understand your family’s needs, schedule, lifestyle, and care preferences.
This fee also includes:
Personalized care assessment and role guidance (nanny vs NCS vs doula)
Customized job description tailored to your family
Market insight on compensation, expectations, and structure
Candidate sourcing and outreach
Initial screening and pre-qualification
Background checks
Drug screening (when applicable)
Coordination of interviews and next steps

Each role supports your family in a different way depending on your stage and needs:
Nannies:
Provide ongoing, long-term childcare in your home. They support your child’s daily routine, development, and overall care, and may assist with child-related tasks such as meals, laundry, and light organization. Ideal for families seeking consistent, day-to-day support.Newborn Care Specialists (NCS):
Offer short-term, specialized care for newborns, typically during the first 8–12 weeks or more is needed. They focus on feeding support, sleep shaping, establishing routines, and overnight care so parents can rest and recover. This role is centered entirely around the baby.Postpartum Doulas:
Support both the baby and the parents during the transition home. This includes emotional support, guidance with newborn care, light household help, and creating a calm, supported environment during recovery. They are there to nurture the entire family.

Caregivers placed through Blooming Petals are part of our network and are not available for direct hire.
This structure allows us to provide ongoing support, maintain our standards of care, and ensure a seamless experience for both families and caregivers.
Non-solicitation terms are outlined in our service agreement.

We do not provide payroll services directly. However, we guide families through the process and can connect you with trusted, reputable payroll companies that specialize in household employment.
In accordance with New York State labor laws, domestic workers are classified as W-2 employees, not independent contractors. This means caregivers must be paid legally through payroll, with proper tax reporting and protections in place.

Yes. Families are the employer of record, and Blooming Petals acts as the placement agency.
We guide you through the process and can assist with setting up payroll and connecting you with trusted resources to make everything seamless.

We understand how important the right fit is. If you are not satisfied, we offer one replacement within 4 weeks of hire at no additional charge and will work closely with you to find a better match.

Yes. Our support continues beyond placement. We remain available to assist with communication, transitions, and guidance so your family feels supported every step of the way.
Families can also stay connected through our community outreach, gatherings, and newsletter, creating a continued sense of support and connection beyond the home.

Benefits can vary by family, but many full-time nanny positions include:
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Overtime pay (in accordance with state laws)
A minimum of two weeks paid vacation
Holiday bonuses
Healthcare contributions or stipends
Housing or relocation assistance (when applicable)
