Intentional Care for Every Stage

  • Who They Are
    Postpartum doulas are trained professionals who support families after birth—providing guidance, reassurance, and hands-on help during the first weeks and up to 16 weeks postpartum. Their role is to care for both parent and baby, helping families adjust, recover, and feel confident in their new rhythm.

    What They Provide

    • Newborn care guidance (feeding, soothing, sleep support)

    • Emotional support during postpartum recovery

    • Light household help related to baby care (laundry, bottles, organization)

    • Education to build confidence for first-time and growing families

    Scope of Practice
    Postpartum doulas are non-medical support professionals. They do not provide clinical care or medical advice but offer experienced, evidence-informed guidance. Their focus is your recovery, your well-being, and helping your family feel supported and at ease.

  • Who They Are
    Newborn Care Specialists (NCS) are trained professionals who provide dedicated care for newborns during the first weeks and months of life. They support families from birth through the early stages, helping establish routines and creating a calm, well-supported environment.

    What They Provide

    • Newborn care (feeding, diapering, soothing, sleep routines)

    • Overnight care to support rest and recovery

    • Guidance on sleep habits and newborn development

    • Support for parents adjusting to life with a new baby

    Scope of Practice
    Newborn Care Specialists are non-medical professionals. They do not provide clinical care or medical advice but offer experienced, hands-on support focused on your baby’s care, sleep, and daily routines—while helping parents feel confident and supported.

  • Who They Are
    Long-term nannies provide consistent, in-home care for your child, supporting daily routines, development, and your family’s overall rhythm. They become a trusted presence in your home as your child grows.

    What They Provide

    • Daily childcare and supervision

    • Support with routines, meals, and activities

    • Milestone support, creativity, and a safe environment

    • Light household tasks related to the child

    Scope of Practice
    Nannies provide ongoing, in-home childcare tailored to each family’s needs. Responsibilities vary by household but focus on the child’s care, development, and daily routines, along with agreed-upon tasks related to the child.

    One-on-one support for parents seeking guidance, reassurance, or simply someone to listen during pregnancy, postpartum, or early childhood.

    These sessions provide non-medical, experience-based guidance rooted in real-life care and professional training. As a Certified Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula, and trained in early childhood education, I offer practical support, insight, and a listening ear to help you feel more confident and supported.

    Families experiencing loss at any stage, during pregnancy, infancy, or beyond, who are seeking support, understanding, and connection.

    Scope of Support

    Juanda Dabbs is the Founder and CEO of Blooming Petals, bringing over 20 years of professional childcare experience and more than two decades of motherhood to the families she serves. A Westchester native with a deep understanding of her community’s needs, she brings both personal insight and professional expertise to her work.

    A seasoned Nanny, Certified Newborn Care Specialist, and Postpartum Doula, she has guided families through postpartum recovery and the early stages of a child’s life with hands-on expertise, thoughtful guidance, and calm leadership.

    She founded Blooming Petals to create a higher standard of care, offering personalized placements, structured support, and a trusted network of caregivers who reflect the agency’s values.

  • Director of Recruiting & Development

    Tameeka Wall holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Buffalo State University and brings over seven years of experience in leadership and talent development. As Talent Director at Blooming Petals, she leads with a thoughtful, individualized approach, carefully matching caregivers whose skills, compassion, and character reflect the agency’s high standards.

    She is committed to quality, ongoing training, and professional growth, ensuring families receive trusted, exceptional care while building a team of caregivers who feel supported, empowered, and valued.
